Moving forward with positivity and intent…
As the time feels right for you and as the current restrictions are lifted, over the next few months we will be gently easing out of this lockdown period. These next few weeks could be a good time to reflect upon your experiences and look at what your current needs are. This has been a multi-faceted interesting time in one way or another for most of us, and for some of us, it could have been quite traumatic at times – the changes in our “normal” circumstances, the challenge to our survival instinct, fear of our financial and work situation, fear of illness for ourselves or others, and some of us experiencing bereavement. Life will be different from now on.
But what about your life? Are there positive things you can learn from this experience? Maybe your need for more quiet, or communing in nature? Or time for you? Or maybe it’s about a total career change.
This can be a great time to make plans and to set your intentions, visions and goals for the future – for the next few months and also the next few years ahead. Everything has come up for question, so use this time to really focus on what you want to be creating in your future. I would highly recommend you stay focused on what you feel passionate about, what you love to do, and what makes you want to jump out of bed in the morning for. Do you want to turn this into something that can be your new vocation? This is a great time to make a commitment to keeping going with the new things that you may have discovered recently that are supportive and nourishing for you.
In the meantime, look after yourself by staying grounded in the present moment. Eat nourishing foods, avoiding too many stimulants, connecting with nature, doing exercise you love – some cardiovascular exercise is great, alongside more gentle exercise like yoga. Meditation and mindfulness practices can help you stay present. Try and get plenty of sleep. If your sleep has been disturbed in the last few weeks, there are plenty of relaxation and sleep apps available to try out. Bringing your awareness on what you choose to watch on the TV or social media might also be important in supporting your wellbeing.
I have recorded a short and gently guided “Grounding and centering” meditation which you can listen to here.
I’m delighted to be offering 1-2-1 online mentoring support to support you through this easing out period. Full details are on my website, or you can call me to discuss your needs on 07905 743268
