Are you feeling bored?

Recently, I have noticed a few people mention that they are feeling a bit bored and unmotivated.  I’ve always found boredom a weird state of being.  It’s almost like a non-state or a non-feeling.  It’s not sad or angry but it’s also not excited, passionate or happy.  My experience has been that the best thing to counteract boredom is creativity.

So, if you are experiencing boredom or lack of motivation currently, and I know for many there are still quite a few weeks before lockdown-easing occurs so this could easily be the case, I would highly recommend looking at getting creative.  This can help your energy to start flowing again, which can return your zest for life, a feeling of excitement about the day ahead and a sense of gratitude for your blessings.

Be creative for creativity’s sake, because it feels good and with no intended purpose. Have no plan behind your creativity. Being creative allows your energy to flow. Allow yourself to be free, having no fixed ideas about how your creative pursuit should be, look or sound. If you don’t like what you have created, that’s fine, put it to one side and start something else. Try out lots of different creative endeavours.  Creativity can really help your life force energy to flow and for you to feel more alive and present.
